Women Empowerment

Empowering women is essential to the health and social development of families, communities and countries. When women are living safe, fulfilled and productive lives, they can reach their full potential. Empowering girls is the key to economic growth, political stability and social transformation. In view of this, MDSM started work on the rehabilitation and reintegration of women and girls those are exploited; through education, training, counselling and legal aid.

Swadhar Greh

With the objective of catering the primary needs of women victims of difficult circumstances and enabling them to lead a life with dignity and conviction two separate Swadhar Greh are established in Dhenkanal and Angul district. The institution assures shelter, food, clothing, and health as well as economic and social security for such women. Through counselling, legal aid and guidance, the victims regain their emotional strength and become able to readjust in family as well as in society. Under no circumstances MDSM leave them unattended or abandoned which could lead their life to exploitation and desolation.

Ujjawala Protective and Rehabilitative Home

This is an institutional set-up in Angul, Odisha for rescue of victims from the place of exploitation, house them in safe custody and provide rehabilitation services both immediate and long-term by means of fulfilling basic amenities such as shelter, food, clothing, medical treatment together with counselling, legal aid, guidance and vocational training. It facilitates reintegration of the victims into the family and society at large. To prevent trafficking of women and children for commercial sexual exploitation through social mobilization and involvement of local communities; MDSM generates awareness and public disclosures and conduct workshops and seminars in vulnerable pockets with the involvement police, NGOs, CBOs, SHGs, Youth Clubs etc.
